Bryant Custodian recognized for positive influence on students’ lives

The Helena School District is full of caring, compassionate individuals who put the children of our community first.  Recently, Bryant educator, Jesika Fisher, recognized custodian Mike Higgins his outstanding actions.  Here are her kind words:

“I wanted to take a moment to let you know what a huge asset Mike Higgins is to our school and our community.  He works hard all day every day to go above and beyond to keep this school clean and functioning.  No matter what kind of disgusting mess arises, he is quick to get it cleaned up and cleaned up well.  He is lighthearted and always willing to lend a hand, even if it is not in his job description.  More importantly to me though, is the other roles Mike plays in our school.  We have a few difficult kids who struggle mightily on a daily basis.  Mike is often the ONE PERSON who can help them get their days turned around.  He finds “jobs” for those kids to do to provide them with a physical break and opportunity to be helpful and productive outside of academic learning.  He knows our kids, all of them, and loves them.  They love him right back. 🙂 I don’t know what his official job title is at Bryant, but I do know he does it well and goes exceedingly above and beyond to make this building a welcome home for all of our Bryant family.  He is one of the defining parts of our Bryant community.”
