Welcome to the Helena School District!

Whether you currently have children in the district or are new to our district, we would like to make the registration and enrollment process as simple as possible. Please find information below and instructions to assist you in enrollment and registration of your student in the Helena School District.

General Enrollment Information

To find the neighborhood school which your child should attend, please click HERE. This link will guide you through the on-line process of entering your current address to find your neighborhood school. You may also call Allison Balboni at (406) 324-2031 with any questions.

You may register your middle school student or high school student throughout the year, as our middle schools and high schools remain open year round. Elementary registrations for grade K-5 can be completed at your neighborhood school during the school year. You may also contact Allison Balboni at (406) 324-2031 or at 1325 Poplar St, and your registration will be given to the school principal once they return to their offices.

To register all students, you will need to complete the following steps.

1. Visit the neighborhood school – to find yours, click HERE – and fill out registration forms from 8:00am – 3:30pm during the school year or by visiting the HPS Administration Offices at 1325 Poplar St. anytime throughout the year.
2. Bring your student’s birth certificate and a proof of address.
3. Please provide the name and address of previous school so records can be requested.

For parents/guardians wishing to register their child in the Helena School District but reside outside of the school district boundaries, please see link below for K-12 STUDENT OUT-OF-DISTRICT TRANSFER REQUEST form and contact the Assistant Superintendent’s Office at (406) 324-2031.
