Your student’s safety is our district’s highest priority. We want you to feel confident that your student is safe and secure at school. Here’s what to expect in the event of an emergency and how you can be a school safety partner.
As a parent or legal guardian, you will automatically receive emergency text alerts unless you have opted out. If you have opted out and would like to change your text alert status, you can opt back in by texting “YES” to 87569.
Take a moment to bookmark our district website and follow us on social media. Remember that emergencies can spawn rumors and misinformation. Be sure you’re prepared to receive timely and accurate updates.
Please refrain from calling or visiting your child’s school during an emergency. Phone lines, staff, and roads are needed for the response. Please avoid calling or texting your child during an emergency so they can focus on following safety instructions.
Safe schools are everyone’s responsibility. If you become aware of a potential safety threat, please report it immediately to a school official or law enforcement.
Students and staff stay in their current locations within a building, with interior and exterior doors locked.
Suspicious persons, hallway disturbances or medical emergencies to ensure that emergency responders can access the affected individual without disruption.
Students and staff take immediate shelter and exterior doors are locked.
Potentially dangerous situations outside the school such as police activity in the school area.
Building is evacuated in instances where conditions are safer outside.
Fire, earthquake or other situations jeopardizing interior building safety.
Conditions warrant keeping students inside and/or implementing alternate transportation plans.
