
Dear Families, Staff, and the Helena Community,
Another school year in the books! We are proud of the hard work that our incredible staff and students put into this last year. A couple of quick updates and reminders before heading into summer break:
Also, you may have heard by now, but current Four Georgians Elementary Principal Carrie Shinkle has formally resigned her position with the District as she has taken an Assistant Principal role with the Coeur d’Alene School District. Congratulations to Ms. Shinkle! You will be missed and we are grateful for three years of service with the District. Most importantly, we are thankful for your dedication to the Four Georgians staff, students, and families. We have begun the search for Four Georgians Elementary’s new principal.

In conjunction with the new building project, HHS wants to recognize and remember the deep history of the old building. To do this, they are working with their current students to put together a living history of HHS to capture the memories, lifestyles, and storied history of those who walked the hallowed halls. If you, a family member, or others attended HHS and would like to be part of this project, please complete the form below (it should be linked, so you can click on it and it will take you to the form). They will start working later this summer to get an interview plan together and start filming the project this coming school year.





As our 2025/26 school year comes to a close, so does our first season of FROM THE GROUND UP and Marla and Sean Maharg’s 22 years with Helena Public Schools. The season finale includes a look at their life in education, what they have appreciated in their careers, and what their next chapter entails.
Thank you Marla, Sean, and all our district retirees, for your dedication and service to our students and schools.
