Supt. Weltz Friday Flyer | February 27, 2026

Dear Families, Staff, and the Helena Community,

This week, we recognized Public Schools Week. In Helena, public education is more than just buildings or a service—it is a pillar of our community. It is where our students start to find their voices,  build toward their futures, and learn the value of respect and citizenship. We must keep showing up for them.

Our schools thrive because of the incredible people within them. To our educators, support staff, and administrators: thank you for your dedication and for the support you provide our students.

To help celebrate public education, we want to hear from you. Is there a district employee who has made a positive impact on your life or the life of your child? Email your message of thanks to tlassiter@helenaschools.org to be shared with those individuals.

Your stories of impact are the greatest testament to the power of our schools. Speaking of, there are quite a few stories being written as we speak. This last week or two has added many student accomplishments from what I mentioned a few weeks ago, from wrestling to orchestra, national merit finalists, science Olympiad, HEF distinguished students and much more. You’ll see these acknowledged in newsletters at the turn of the quarter

Have a good weekend!

Respectfully,

Rex M. Weltz, Superintendent
Helena Public Schools
